PLP ANNOUNCES A COMPETITIVE UPGRADE FOR REPRO DESK SERVER CUSTOMERS – First 50 Customers Receive Substantial Discount To Switch – SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – July 30, 2003 – PLP Digital Systems, the leading digital reprographics solutions provider, today announced a limited offer to upgrade to PlotWorks® from Repro Desk. Moving to PlotWorks reduces labor costs and improves productivity by enabling one operator to simultaneously manage and control multiple printers from a single workstation, even if those devices are from different manufacturers. Using a single, consistent user interface for all devices reduces training and support costs. What once were manual tasks have been automated by PlotWorks, increasing the speed of processing while reducing waste and minimizing errors. Repro Desk has yet to reach this level of sophistication. Unlike Repro Desk, PlotWorks supports mixed-vendor printer/scanner configurations, allowing customers to realize a greater return on assets by combining the best available devices based on quality, price and performance. "In today's market, PLP is committed to providing the best options and viable alternatives to its customers," said John Cronin, CEO of PLP. "We recognize that there is a great deal of uncertainty regarding the future of Repro Desk. This is about protecting your investment." "We're a high volume business with a growing customer base," says Chris Estéban, president of A. Estéban & Company, New York City. "I chose PlotWorks over Repro Desk because it is a more powerful, more productive solution. And with PLP's commitment to open standards, transferable licenses, multi-vendor support and superior customer service, I have the flexibility that I need today and a product roadmap that I can have confidence in. PlotWorks has a future." Competitive Upgrade Summary
List Price: $18,816 The PlotWorks upgrade is available to the first 50 customers who show proof of a Repro Desk license and sign a competitive upgrade agreement at the time of order. Professional services are not included, and may be required. Customers must provide a dedicated PC meeting PLP's current minimal requirements. PC may be purchased separately from PLP. Offer is limited to 2 licenses per customer, and expires on September 30, 2003. About PLP # # # |
