PLP ACQUIRES JOB TRACKING SOFTWARE BUSINESS FROM TRIANGLE REPROGRAPHICS – OpCenter™ Track Provides Centralized Job Tracking from Order to Delivery – ARLINGTON, Virginia – February 6, 2007 – PLP Digital Systems, Inc., a leading provider of production workflow management applications and decision support tools, announced today the acquisition of the Job Tracking System software business from Triangle Reprographics of Orlando, Florida. Initially developed in 2001 as custom, in-house job tracking solution by Triangle Reprographics, the software has evolved into a highly-configurable and robust application suitable for virtually any reprographic organization, regardless of size or complexity. In addition to the internal deployment at Triangle Reprographics, companies such as Cushing & Color Chicago and AIR Graphics rely on this software to track every job through its lifecycle, from order to delivery. "Both current and future customers have increasingly expressed a strong desire to bolster or replace their existing job tracking methodologies," states John Cronin, President and CEO of PLP. "After running the buy-or-build analysis, it became evident that the most expedient path to market with a proven, high-quality application would be through acquisition. Adding this end-to-end job tracking component to the real-time monitoring and analytic capabilities of OpCenter rounds out our suite of business intelligence solutions for the reprographics industry." "We are very excited for PLP to take over the future development of JTS", says Reg Garner, Vice President of Triangle Reprographics. "Existing users throughout the country, as well as Triangle Reprographics, will benefit from PLP's ability to further develop and support the product. PLP's reputation for innovation, quality and customer service speaks for itself. I can't think of a better team to take our tracking system to a whole new level." Available as an independent module, OpCenter™ Track allows anyone in the company to rapidly determine the status of any job, including wide format AEC, small format, and color. OpCenter Track is built around the concept of Log Views, in which one line of information is displayed per job filtered by production status or department. Each line contains the job number, the job name, the customer name, the current production status (e.g. In House, In Shipping, In Production, etc.), either the current production department or the driver assigned, and the due date and time. One of the most significant features of OpCenter Track is the automatically updated "obvious visual alert" when a job is within an hour of its due time and a different "obvious visual alert" when a job is late. "We've been using this tracking system for a couple of years, and we couldn't run our business effectively without it," stated Mike Cully, president of AIR Graphics. "While hand-written job logs may be marginally acceptable in smaller businesses, our growth and volumes dictated the transition to a centralized tracking system. As an existing PLP customer, we're very pleased to learn of the acquisition. This is a terrific combination." About Triangle Reprographics About PLP # # # |
